The Underground Railroad

On average every month someone commits suicide jumping in front of the Chicago EL train yet it doesn't make the news. There is a point where the train travels under ground and for some reason this section of track is chosen for the jumping off point. The Underground Railroad is dedicated to them.

Harriet Tubman would not be proud to see this railroad underground.

This time escaping bodies are being found.

They made it past slavery to man but not to a system.

Stories never told nobody misses them.

The senses are overwhelmed by the putrid smell.

When life ends it's a self execution.

But certainly not retribution.

The monthly quota is adding up.

For a people who feel they don't amount to much.

The underground railroad goes clikety clack.

The underground railroad goes clikety clack clikety clack.

CLUMP! CLUMP!

  1. The last two lines... the images I have in my head right now... "clickety clack. clump! clump!"

The quota is adding up, yet the media continues to ignore the importance to cover these stories.

[been having trouble commenting, hope it works this time]
